about me

I’m a freelance journalist currently based in Brooklyn. I write about foreign policy, national security, politics, human rights, and democracy.

I was most recently a senior reporter at Vox, where I covered the conflicts and crises that undermine global stability. My reporting has taken me around the world, from Dakar to Berlin to Tokyo. I previously worked as an assistant editor at New York Magazine. My work has also appeared in Splinter, ARTNews, The American Prospect, The Observer, The New Republic, Latino USA, and Narrative.ly.

I have been an Arthur F. Burns Fellow, United Nations Fellow, and my work has been supported by the Foreign Press Center Japan. I received a George Polk Award for Magazine Reporting for my contributions to New York’s cover story: "Cosby: The Women."

I attended journalism school at Northwestern University and earned my undergraduate degree in international politics from Georgetown University. I rarely tweet, but you can follow me here or reach me here.
